Whoopee! the feature we have all being waiting for. Active memory sharing.
This will mean that you can oversubscribe memory on a POWER6 system so that you let the system deploy memory where you need it the most whilst the LPAR believes it is always there (so no DLPAR operation required). It is the final piece of the jigsaw to creating a fully virtualised environment so that you can make the most out of consolidating different AIX (and linux) systems together.
You will need to take your service management planning seriously if you do go down this route. Traditional AIX performance monitoring will need to be widened and considered on a per frame (i.e. per physical unit) as well as per LPAR.
Just think, you could follow the trend of your CPU and Memory usage across your frames and move the LPARs using partition mobility so that you even the loads between your frames, without your customer/users ever knowing. How better to get the most out of your datacentre! I am sooooo excited!
