IBM have released a new ESM and hard drive firmware package for the ESMs of the IBM DS4000/DS5000 Storage Subsystem range.
The new firmware bundle version 1.65 is an update to the previous version 1.64 and can be downloaded from the following link:

You will need an IBM log in to obtain these files, or you can ask your IBM Business Partner to download these for you. The latest update (1.65) includes the following changes since 1.63:

1. IBM DS4000/DS5000 FC Hard Disk and EXP100/420/710/810/EXP5000 ESM Update Program

    Version 1.65 - 10/29/09
    - Fix  Drive firmware files incorrect.  The DA60 files will reset the drives Change       Def settings back to defaults, which is DS4700. The code is only valid for MFG to       load on drives in the EXP5060 box.  This can not be reversed with FW and the       affected customer drives will have to be FRU replaced.       Drives affected:

      If you have downloaded the 1.64 package, DO NOT USE these files.
      New files have been supplied in this package with AB4A firmware and Interposer 1160.

      "HUA721050KLA330 42D0392 42D0401IBMV" GK6OAB4A        AB4A            - Fix  A space was missing in the Seagate 1TB drive firmware package header string.        This would cause the drive firmware to be seen as incompatible whenever trying to       upgrade the drives firmware.        The following drives are affected:

      ST31000340NS 44X2455 42C0423IBMV

    Version 1.64 - 10/07/09
    - New SSD (Solid State drive) Z16IFE3B-73UC (73G/SSD/4Gbps)
    - New 1TB drive "HUA721010KLA330 59Y5306 59Y1795IBM " GKAOABDA
          Note: Since this is a new drive, the drive firmware was not included in the                 package as there is nothing newer than the current manufactured level.
    - New firmware upgrades for Sata drives are all interposer upgrades with the       following exceptions which are interposer upgrades and drive firmware       upgrades:
